Alhambra Studios was buzzing with excitment as we got ready for our annual box office event Kala Utsav. It was a celebration of music, dance and poetry , where students and participants in our projects through out the year joined professional artists in a fantastic show for a packed audience. Dance forms such as Bharatnatyam, Pushpanjali, Kauthvam, Jathiswaram and Folk Dance, Garba and Oppana were performed by children from four years old. Santoor and Tabla were played in a mesmerising performance by Kamaljeet Ajimal and Sukhmani Rayat. The event rounded up with a spectacular performance of Kuchipudi- Tarangam, where the dancer balances a pot of water on their head and dances on a copper tray, performed by Remya Mypalli and a Tabla solo by accomplished artist, Surdarsan Chana accompanied by Kamaljeet Ajimal.
