Creative Interfaith Workshops

Creative Interfaith Workshops

The costs of KS Education packages are flexible and we can work within your budget to create an exciting and informative workshop for your students.

KS1 & KS2

In this interactive workshop participants will learn about religious diversity in the UK and engage with key characteristics of a variety of faiths using creative movement and gesture. Finally, your students will consider what is important to them, and use what they have learnt throughout the session to relate their experiences to the lives of others.

By the end of this session participants will have:

  • Identified the range of religions practiced in UK.
  • Studied the beliefs held in a variety of faiths, and begin to look at key teachings.
  • Explored religious practices and forms of expression, which may include looking at special places, days & objects, and studying religious stories and symbols.
  • Identify key values of non-religious viewpoints.
  • Reflected on their own identity and beliefs, and compare to the experience of others.

Our Creative Interfaith workshops directly address the fundamental British Values of individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance. These workshops will also contribute to the promotion of SMSC development in your school.

KS3 + KS4

Kala Sangam’s Creative Interfaith workshop for KS3 and KS4 will creatively investigate the range of religions in the UK. Participants will critically explore these religions’ practices and beliefs and how these relate to issues of questions of morality. This workshop will also enable your students to bring their own experiences to life, reflect on their own values and what in their life has influenced them. The activities will also help participants develop an understanding of, and empathy for, others.

During this workshop participants will:

  • Examine religion in locality and increase their knowledge of religious diversity in the UK.
  • Understand key beliefs and teachings from a variety of faiths, and will compare and contrast these. Additionally, participants will investigate how religious beliefs relate to morality and personal values.
  • Consider non-religious worldviews (eg. Humanism & Atheism) as valid ethical and moral philosophies.
  • Discover a range of religious practices and types of worship, and analyse how they relate to beliefs.
  • Explore their own beliefs and the experiences that are most important to them.
  • Relate their own beliefs to their cultural and religious context.

Our Creative Interfaith workshops directly address the fundamental British Values of individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance. These workshops will also contribute to the promotion of SMSC development in your school.
