Kala Sangam - Bringing people together through South Asian and Interdisciplinary Arts

This partnership began following the success of our work with Bradford YOT. Thirteen workshops in the Summer of 2006 resulted in an arts showcase at Northorpe Hall, Mirfield. The showcase highlighted the benefits of the arts in getting young people back on track. It was the first event of its kind at Kirklees YOT. Kala Sangam, YOT staff and young people involved in the project presented a body of work which included a DVD of graffiti art and DJing workshops. A further programme ensued in the Autumn, with the work showcased at Cafe Ollo in Huddersfield Media Centre. Reports for these projects can be requested from the Youth Arts Officer.
