Youth Arts at Kala Sangam began as an Arts Council of England fellowship scheme in 2004 and continues to successfully gain credible status and growth in Bradford and beyond.
The Youth Arts department works with various organisations, including Playspace, Frontline Initiative, Artworks, Wrose Adventurers, Bradford, Kirklees and Calderdale Youth Offending Teams (YOTs), Bradford Deaf Youth Club (BDYC) and Huddersfield Young Carers. We offer different art forms in engaging young people, building cognitive and social skills, gaining confidence and self esteem.
Targeting ages 13-25 through creative and innovative activities, our projects work with a range of young people, including a variety of disadvantaged young people facing barriers to learning, such as young offenders, those with learning difficulties and long-term disabilities. The focus is on regenerating the lives and interests of young people through a variety of art forms.
Kala Sangam sits on the Regional Advisory Panel for the English Youth Arts Network (ENYAN). We work regionally to communicate the needs of people involved in Youth Arts throughout Yorkshire.
ENYAN is a membership body, designed to create connections across the youth and arts sectors, aiming to create more opportunities for the creative and personal development of young people. To find out more about ENYAN, please click here.
