We’re really excited to announce four talented artists for our Artists Takeover 2018!

The chosen artists are Parbati Chaudhury, whose piece Good Girl looks at why some women and girls in the global South Asian community find it difficult to bring up romantic relationships with their parents/guardians; Bradford’s Sharena Lee Satti who will produce a series of poems and imagery reflecting on homelessness in the city; Hiten Mistry, who will use Bharatanatyam to explore the subject of male depression in Ode to Meloncholy; and Leeds-based contemporary dance choreographer Rachel Clarke, whose White Noise examines how we communicate with each other and BSL/deaf/hard of hearing culture.

All artists will be in-residence for one week at Kala Sangam throughout the summer and will perform at our Artists Takeover Scratch Night in September 2018… watch this space for more details throughout the summer!
