Kamala Devam returns as Magic Fish

Published by on

Kamala Devam, was one of the lucky artists who was awarded with a paid residency and performance for our Artists Takeover and Scratch Night in September 2017.

We are excited to announce that Kamala will be performing as The Magic Fish in our family show, by ATMA Dance and Mayuri Boonham on Tuesday 24 October at 10am and 2pm.

During her time we managed to get a quick few minutes to interview her.

Join us this half term for a classic Indian tale retold through dance, storytelling and beatboxing for young thinking minds.

Vishnu, one of India’s shape-shifting Supergods, wakes up after sleeping for thousands of years to find a greedy demon called No-Knowledge has taken earth’s most precious treasures for himself.

Enlisting the help of King Manu to save the essentials for life, Vishnu changes his form into something quite unexpected! In this interactive performance, boys and girls are invited to join King Manu’s adventure in a new production to enchant all children.

Commissioned by The Place, GemArts and Pavilion Dance South West and supported by The Unicorn Theatre. Supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Coming to the show? Ticket holders can also take part in a free exciting family workshop on the day – book your place when purchasing tickets!
