Kundalini Yoga and Meditation classes with Brinder Sandhu

Every Saturday (from 12 January 2019), 10am – 11.30am

These classes are suitable for adults of any level, whether you’re a complete newbie or are experienced in Yoga and meditation practice, come along and try it out on Saturday mornings at Kala Sangam!

Yoga, in its most basic translation, means ‘union’. The focus is upon uniting the breath, body and mind, to enable you to live a more conscious and aware existence.

After class, why not relax and take in the picturesque views of Bradford Cathedral and Little Germany in our Rooftop Cafe and take advantage of our post-Yoga pastry and hot drink offer for only £2.75 – exclusive to yoga participants!

What is Kundalini Yoga and Meditation?

Kundalini Yoga and Meditation is for everybody regardless of age, weight, gender or religion. You don’t have to be particularly flexible or fit. All you need is an open mind and a set intention to do something for your SELF. If you are interested in self- development and would like to improve your physical, emotional and/or mental health, learn how to connect to your soul, how to increase/develop your intuition then it is definitely something for you.

A typical class will incorporate a kriya (asanas/postures), pranayam (powerful breathing), body locks, hand mudras, mantra chanting, meditation and deep relaxation at the end. The teacher will guide you through the session, there is no physical correction however the teacher will observe the students and give verbal correction.

Brinder Sandhu is a KRI Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher who completed her training in 2018 from the Sahej Academy, South Yorkshire. Brinder is a dedicated teacher on a journey to share the wonderful teachings of Yogi Bhajan, who believed everyone had the birth-right to be healthy and happy. Sometimes life does not always allow us to experience this, however with Kundalini Yoga technology which is also known as the Yoga of Awareness you will develop your own toolbox to deal with life’s constant challenges. This beautiful gift will transform you, if practised consistently. It will bring balance, calm and harmony to your mind, body and soul. Within you there is stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be your-SELF. Don’t practice Kundalini Yoga to get better at yoga, practice it to get better at living.

Brinder is a Pharmacist who is passionate about physical and mental wellbeing, without relying on medicines.  She has practised many different yoga styles during her life which have all been wonderful, enriching and beneficial – however it is Kundalini Yoga which helped her tremendously in navigating her way through life and the ups and downs that come along the way. We live in times of great change and speed which causes us to be stressed, anxious and fearful. This yoga will help build your strength, both mentally and physically. Yoga is not a standalone for your wellbeing but should be a part of your lifestyle in conjunction with other pillars of health such as healthy food, loving relationships, connecting with nature and practising gratitude.
