Textiles Now Exhibition

Textiles Now Exhibition

Tim Smith

Exhibition Launch: Thursday 31 January – 6pm

Exhibition runs until Thursday 28 March

Yorkshire’s people and its landscapes, both urban and rural, have been shaped by centuries of textiles production. Raising sheep and making things from wool was Britain’s first great industry and Bradford was at its centre.

Although the textile business is now seen as belonging to Bradford’s past, the innovative spirit that powered the industry is alive, well, and celebrated in this exhibition.

Through photography and film, Tim Smith offers a fascinating glimpse into the people and places have that have taken Yorkshire’s textile trade into the 21st century, keeping it at the heart of the region’s economy.
